Factors Afecting The Use of Long-Term Contraception Method in Tegal Tirto Village

Abstract

In 2015 the total population of Indonesia was 255,461,700 people and became 265,015,300 people in 2018. The increasing use of contraception, especially in fertile couples, was proven to significantly reduce the rate of population growth. The Long-Term Contraception Method (ind.MKJP) is an effective method of contraception, but the majority of women of childbearing age use the short-term contraceptive method. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors influencing the choice of long-term method of contraception in the village of Tegal Tirto. The research method used is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in 2019 in Tegal Tirto Village, Berbah District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Province. The populations are all married mothers who attended the study (65 respondents).  The sampling technique is the total sampling technique. Data analysis used chi-square bivariate analysis. the analyses results between age and with MKJP type selection is p_value (0.006), education with MKJP election is p_value (0.013), work with MKJP selection is p_value value (0.109) and Complaints with MKJP selection is p_value (0.064). It can be concluded the factors related to the selection of contraceptive MKJP are age and education. Whereas those that have no correlation with the selection of long term contraception method are work and complaints
